Pre-clearance procedures soon available in Koper

Port of Koper: Pre-clearance procedure for the import of goods is a welcome option for companies with demand of short transit times

As of January 1st 2015, the pre-clearance procedures shall be performed also in the Port of Koper. The pre-clearance will allow the import declaration and notification on presentation of goods to be delivered to customs authority yet during the time when the goods on vessel are on the way to the port of destination, in that case Port of Koper.

Advantages of pre-clearance:

• the holder of the authorization shall receive a notification on the eventual control of goods prior to the vessel’s arrival in the Port of Koper, enabling it to have a prior information requested for the further treatment of goods upon the vessel’s arrival in the Port;

• goods, for which controls are not planned, shall be released promptly, upon the vessel’s berthing in the Port of Koper;

• the pre-clearance shall be carried out 24/7/365 days a year.

The pre-clearance procedure is a most welcome option for our clients, especially for whom the transit time is of crucial importance.
