Premiere of B767 freighter at DHL Express

DHL Express modifies service on transatlantic routes

DHL Express improves the service on the transatlantic routes. The globally acting express service is adding six new Boeing 767 „Extended Range Freighter“ to its aircraft fleet. DHL is the first enterprise to register this aircraft type after certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Europe.

On 22 September the new 767ERF took off for its first commercial flight from the DHL air hub in Leipzig/Halle to New York (JFK). The freighters are supposed to improve delivery quality and reliability of DHL in transatlantic business. They replace the partial capacities of MD-11F freighters that are currently used in the framework of a joint venture with Lufthansa Cargo.

DHL Express will deploy the new jets on direct connections linking the European DHL air hub Leipzig/Halle and New York, as well as between the British DHL hub East Midlands and Cincinnati and New York, respectively. A capacity of 59 tons and a maximum cruising radius of 6,025 kilometres makes the 767ERF one of the most modern and environmentally friendly medium-haul, wide body freighter aircrafts.
