Premiere of „RockTrain“ with voestalpine
New ore train of the Rail Cargo Group composed of RockTainer ORE and InnoWaggons supplies voestalpine plants in Linz and Donawitz
On 2 October the first new ore train of voestalpine was christened. In the frame of a “Railshow“Reinhard Bamberger, CEO Rail Cargo Group, DI Jörg Kirchweger, managing director Stahl-Service-Center-Gruppe of voestalpine, and DI Peter Wanek-Pusset, managing director Innofreight forwarding, christened the train composed of InnoWaggons and RockTainer ORE.
The load capacity of 138 tonnes of the double railcar was made possible by the use of the alform-welding-system of voestalpine, combining high-strength structural steels and designated welding filler material. The Rail Cargo Group uses InnoWaggons with RockTainer ORE for iron ore shipments to both locations Linz and Donawitz. By mid-2015 a total of 100 units will be produced in the first batch.
This expands the area of operation of the InnoWaggons manufactured by ÖBB-TS in Miskolc. Another set will be used from 8 October, for sand and gravel transport within the Stuttgart 21 rail project.
