Printer extends £8m contract with Downton

Prinovis, the last remaining gravure printing site in the UK, has renewed its UK distribution contract CM Downton for another five years. This extends a relationship that started in 2010 and will be worth around £8 million over the duration of the new contract.

It prints magazines and colour supplements for major publishers and news groups at its plant in Speke, Merseyside. It also produces catalogues, leaflets and other printed materials for customers across a wide range of industry sectors.

Downton distributes loads direct from the Speke plant to customers throughout the UK, including the key news wholesalers. Downton personnel are based on site to liaise with the plant’s production and warehouse teams and plan loads. In addition, Downton maintains a core fleet of eight vehicles at the site to fulfil the deliveries, with additional capacity provided by its wider national transport network.
