Progress in construction of new Sittingbourne warehouse

With its steel frame now erected, construction of a 52,586ft² urban warehouse in Sittingbourne, Kent is well underway.

Named Saxon 53, the development is the result of a partnership between Arax Properties and Eurazeo Real Estate, with DTRE appointed as agent.

It will feature a 41m yard, three dock loading doors, and one level access door. With 10m eaves and 15% roof lights, the building will also include 5,400ft² of office space.

Claudia Harley, Associate Partner at DTRE, explained: “There are currently no available units between 40,000-60,000ft² in the Medway and Swale markets, and more than 10 live requirements for units this size. Saxon 53 remains one of the only units of this size range that are deliverable in the short term.”

Giles Morse, Partner at Arax Properties, added: “We are delighted to be providing investment into the Kent logistics market, bringing much-needed supply and new employment opportunities.”

Arax and Eurozeo are targeting BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification and an EPC ‘A’ rating at the site.

DTRE expects the facility to be available from Q4 2023.
