Raben Group cements acquisition of German road network and operations from Wincanton

Raben Group has finalized the acquisition of German road network and operations in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia from Wincanton.

Raben Group announced the plan of taking over the companies at the beginning of June and on September 01, 2011 the transaction was completed.

“We are happy to welcome a part of Wincanton in Raben Group. We are sure that thanks to this transaction a number of experienced, valuable employees will join us and we will be able to share the know-how and strengthen our position. At the same time we will add value to our customer relationships. We believe that using the synergy of those two companies, we will provide logistics operations even more effectively than previously.” – said Ewald Raben, the CEO of Raben Group.

Instead of 5,200 employees, there are more than 7,500 people who work in Raben Group now. Instead of 77, there are 133 locations in which Raben Group offers their services.

“The acquisition is a milestone for Raben Group and a step forward to achieve a leadership position in CEE. Right now, we have to focus on finishing and properly implementing an integration plan, which we create together with employees of previous Wincanton. The first step is to change the name from Wincanton to Raben Trans European.” – said Ewald Raben.

Raben Group is a family-owned, logistics operator in the European market where it has been present since 1931.
