Raben Group continues its expansion in Germany

The Raben Group acquires the location in Kamen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with around 100 employees from the Schmalz + Schön logistics group. The takeover is in line with the growth strategy of Raben in Germany. The transaction is to be implemented as of June 1, 2017 and is subject to the approval by the cartel authorities.

“With this acquisition, we are consolidating our German network in the economically important region of Dortmund. We want to successfully expand and continue our existing customer relationships. Hence, we focus on the quality and competence of our committed employees at the location,” says Ewald Raben, CEO of the Raben Group.

Schmalz + Schön Logistics GmbH Region Dortmund was founded in 1978 as a forwarding company in Menden. Its core business is processing euronational general cargo shipments and less than full loads, as well as procurement logistics. The transports have been organised so far from the Kamen site in cooperation with the forwarding networks of CTL and Online Systemlogistik.

Raben Trans European Germany has 30 branches throughout Germany. The service range includes full range logistics solutions, road transports (national and international distribution, FTL and LTL) sea and air freight transports, based on 2,700 employees and state-of-the-art technology.
