CEVA signs new contract with Husqvarna Motorcycles; Wincanton and Serco secure Ministry of Justice contract; DHL signs security partnership with Hyderabad Menzies Air Cargo; Tradeteam wins drinks supply chain contract with Whitbread.

 

CEVA Logistics has signed a signed a two-year contract with Husqvarna Motorcycles, part of the BMW Group.

Under the contract, CEVA will handle key logistics activities in Husqvarna’s 1,200 m2 warehouse at the Biandronno plant in the Province of Varese in Italy.

CEVA will offer valued-added solutions to ensure total visibility and control of orders through the management of the information systems that aid process planning and monitoring.

As part of Husqvarna’s operating model, it has leased its logistics business unit to CEVA for the duration of the two-year contract, handing over total responsibility for the management of its employees and the operation.

Wincanton, in partnership with Serco, has been awarded a contract with the Ministry of Justice to provide Prisoner Escort & Custody Services for London and the East of England.

The full contract value is £42 million per year.  The initial contract will run for seven years, with options to extend by another three years.

Wincanton will provide logistical support to Serco for the secure transportation of prisoners between HM Prisons, police stations and courts across the South East of England.

Serco will manage the day to day operations, employing the specialist crews or Prison Custody Officers and supplying the key management systems. Wincanton will be responsible for providing logistical expertise across key functions including the provision and maintenance of the specialist fleet, activity scheduling and vehicle tracking, as well as providing driver training and fleet management systems.

DHL Global Forwarding has signed a security partnership with Hyderabad Menzies Air Cargo, that will see both organisations working together and agreeing on standard operating procedures for high-value and high-risk air cargo, to share best practices and information on crime trends.

DHL has established global, regional and country-specific structures with dedicated security professionals supported by a wide network of on-site security nominees who implement the DHL Logistics Security Standards. These include security risk classifications, security self-assessments and comprehensive security audits.

More than thirty sites across Asia Pacific adhere to TAPA Freight Security Requirement 2011 Class A Certification and are validated members of the US Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

The DHL – Hyderabad Menzies partnership follows the success of DHL’s similar collaborations with cargo terminal operators across India.

Tradeteam has won a six-year contract to provide supply chain services to UK hotel and restaurant group, Whitbread.

Tradeteam provides a full range of services for Whitbread’s 584 hotels and restaurants.

The agreement includes the provision of stock ownership, forecasting and replenishment services, order taking, warehousing, distribution, and customer services.
