Unilever appoints Kuehne + Nagel in Romania; Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive opens a new parts DC for Ford in Dubai.
 

Unilever Supply Chain Co has expanded its cooperation with Kuehne + Nagel in Romania, assigning its co-packing activities to the logistics provider.

Since 2010, Kuehne + Nagel has managed warehousing operations for Unilever’s home and personal care (HPC) product range in South Eastern Europe in a newly commissioned facility in Ploiesti.

Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive has been appointed to operate the new Ford Motor Co Parts Distribution Centre in Dubai (UAE), in support of Ford’s efforts to centralise the supply of replacement and service parts in the Middle East.

Distribution is planned to start in the second half of 2011.

The 29,500 m2 logistics centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone will hold about 50,000 parts, with products arriving bundled as ocean- and airfreight from central Ford warehouses in North America, Europe and Asia.
