Damaris appoints Menlo Worldwide Logistics to handle global distribution; the Highways Agency expands its contract with Norbert Dentressangle.

Menlo Worldwide Logistics will provide logistics, warehousing and distribution services for UK-based quality lingerie producer, Damaris.

The operation will be based at its multi-user facility in Swindon, UK.

After receiving merchandise from Damaris‘ manufacturing plants in Asia, Menlo will provide a range of value-added services including labelling, kimball tagging*, gusseting and pricing of individual garments.

Menlo will then process all orders before shipping them to Damaris customers throughout Europe and the rest of the world.  This includes supplying and dove-tailing with Damaris‘ existing distributor networks in Asia and the US.

The Highways Agency has expanded its contract with Norbert Dentressangle to encompass the handling, storage and distribution of motorway variable message signs.

Norbert Dentressangle was originally appointed by the Highways Agency in 2010 to manage a storage and distribution operation from its shared-user warehouse in Telford. To accommodate the increase in stock, Norbert Dentressangle has invested in an additional warehouse at the site. This will provide bulk storage and 2,000 pallet locations for the signs, some of which are more than 4 metres wide and weigh up to 800 kg.

To ensure the safe and careful transportation of the signs, Norbert Dentressangle has deployed high lift vehicles and its drivers have undertaken specialist handling training.

The Highways Agency previously paid manufacturers to store its signs but, under the new arrangement, it will benefit from consolidating all the stock at the Telford site.

Norbert Dentressangle will also be responsible for the phased migration of product from manufacturer sites in Gatwick, Aylesbury and Newcastle Upon Tyne.
