Spanish cosmetics company The Colomer Group has awarded a five-year contract to Kuehne + Nagel for warehousing, picking & packing and distribution activities for its hair care products.
Kuehne + Nagel will gradually consolidate all logistics operations at Colomer’s current warehouses in Germany and France into its distribution centre in Biebesheim near Darmstadt (Germany). This consolidation will be completed by autumn 2011.
From the new facility, Kuehne + Nagel will supply professional hair salons in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg and the Netherlands. Distribution will be expanded to Switzerland at a later stage.
Kuehne + Nagel is managing a new temperature-controlled warehouse in Singapore for Danisco.
The 1,600 m² chilled facility, which serves as the regional distribution centre for Danisco, is strategically located close to major highways and Singapore ports.
Under the three-year contract, Kuehne + Nagel provides Danisco with a range of logistics services, including goods receipt, storage and outbound handling, as well as sea freight and value-added services such as sampling and re-packing.
Philips Consumer Lifestyle has extended its contract with DHL Supply Chain for another three years.
DHL Supply Chain manages Philips Consumer Lifestyle’s entire Nordic warehousing at its new high security facility in Torsvik outside of Jönköping, Sweden.
DHL has been Philips‘ 3PL and distribution partner since 2004. The extended agreement means that DHL will continue to be responsible for warehousing activities including intake, storage, transport design, and distribution covering the Philips Consumer Lifestyle market in the Nordic region.
The Torsvik warehouse has been designed specifically for the handling of consumer and electronic products, which require careful handling. More than 95,000 pallets are handled at the facility each year.
Groupe CAT has concluded an exclusive delivery contract with Aixam Mega, a European seller of unregistered vehicles.
During the three-year contract, CAT will be responsible for transporting the Aixam’s small cars from France to Italy, where they will be stored before delivery throughout the Italian dealer network.
Effective from April 11th 2011 until April 11th 2014, Aixam Mega and Groupe CAT will form an exclusive partnership to transport small passenger vehicles from Aix-les-Bains (southeast France) to the CAT compound in Vercelli (Italy), for onward distribution.
As well as vehicle transportation, CAT will also provide a range of vehicle management services and onward in-country distribution throughout Italy to Aixam’s existing network of 150 dealers.
Aixam’s initial volumes are expected to be around 1,900 cars per year. CAT already distributes 120,000 vehicles in Italy each year.

Running from May 31st to June 2nd, CeBIT Australia 2011 will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Weber Logistics has signed a multi-year contract with Topco Associates to warehouse and distribute specialised products to its West Coast member-owners.
Under the new contract, Weber manages approximately 2,000 SKUs for a variety of products, including specialised grocery, general merchandise and home beauty care.
