The end of November saw Pacific Highway transport the first Suzuki vehicles for the Austrian market to Bremerhaven. As the exclusive automobile logistician for the German-based subsidiary of the Japanese Suzuki Motor Corp, BLG Logistics was recently awarded the contract to handle and perform initial technical processing of the Asia-manufactured vehicles intended for the Austrian market.

The annual handling volume of vehicles treated with body cavity protection and underbody protection in Bremerhaven is expected to be around 4,000. The cars are then transported from Bremerhaven to the Austrian town of Straßwalchen by Lagermax and BLG Logistics in roughly the same volumes. Further technical processing continues to be performed at the terminal of the Austrian partner, Lagermax.

Suzuki has been importing models made in Japan and India through Bremerhaven since 1980, with BLG Logistics being responsible for the technical processing and transportation to the German dealers.
