Revolution Transport Service introduces WMS into its Warrington warehouse

Revolution Transport Services is to deploy a Microlistics warehouse management system in its 120,000 sq ft warehouse in Warrington.

The 3PL and Pallet-Track member had previously been reliant upon a warehousing module provided as part of its transport management system, but the software was no longer fit for purpose.

John Marland, MD at Revolution Transport Services, said: “We reached a point where we were continually pushing the limits on the capacity of our warehouse and the capability of the software we were using. We recently addressed the capacity issue through investment into a new warehouse and we want to complete that sound foundation by getting the software and system side of the equation right from the get-go.

“Previously our team was required to manually key in customer orders. The new WMS has full EDI integration, so we will be able to receive, action and validate orders instantly.”

Key system characteristics included integrated functionality for third-party billing and task-based management capabilities that will see operatives assigned work based on priority, proximity, and permissions.

Mark Dawson, Microlistics founder and MD, said: “Any business wanting to succeed in the provision of e-commerce fulfilment services is going to need a WMS with strong integration capability to provide visibility to both the organisation and the customer of stock and order status across the entire supply chain.”
