Rhenus Logistics remains on board with Viking

Austrian manufacturer of gardening tools Viking renews its contract with Rhenus to operate the European central warehouse at the Strasburg location

Renewed for several years, the contract covers the operation of the Strasburg central warehouse for finished goods for the European market and distribution within Europe. IN addition Rhenus stores selected electronic and battery powered devices of the Stihl brand and takes over global distribution. The services include also customs clearance of exports and tracking of serial numbers.

Built in June 2004 the central Rhenus warehouse in Strasburg was expanded to 17,000 m² in 20120. Two of the three hall segments are exclusively reserved for Viking, another segment is used as a multi user area. The logistics facility offers 15,000 pallet spaces and 5,000 m² for block storage.

Viking, the family enterprise based in Langkampfen, Austria, produces and distributes lawn moers, robotic moers, lawn tractors, scarifiers, garden shredders and tillers. About 350 different products are stored at the central warehouse by Rhenus in Strasburg, Alsace. During peak season up to 200 trucks leave the warehouse per week.
