Samskip launches Hull-Amsterdam service

Samskip has launched a short-sea container service between Amsterdam and Hull.

The 340-TEU vessel Thea II made its first call at Amsterdam Container Terminal on 21st March.

The service offers three sailings a week on the route with vessels departing from Amsterdam on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Diederick Blom, chief operating officer of Samskip, said: “Both Port of Amsterdam and TMA Logistics have shown exceptional commitment to this new partnership, which brings a new dimension to Samskip’s sustainable, multimodal transport solutions for all types of intermodal loads, including 45ft, reefer, flat rack, tank and bulk containers. Samskip will now offer eight sailings per week Rotterdam/Amsterdam to and from Hull.”

ACT is operated by TMA Logistics in which Hutchison Ports is a 50 per cent shareholder.
