Schachinger Logistik obtains „Energie-Star 2014“-award for its ecologic logistics building
Schachinger Logistik was awarded the energy prize „Energie-Star 2014“ last week. The Upper Austrian prize for the best energy solutions honours successfully implemented projects in the segments of energy efficiency and renewable energy. This year the Energie Star-award was presented for the 10th time, and handed over by Rudi Anschober, Upper Austria’s Secretary for Environment, in the Minoriten Abby in Wels on Thursday evening last week.
Schachinger Logistik has won the prize in the enterprise category for its lighthouse project – an ecological logistics building.
“The new logistics building of Schachinger in Hörsching is probably Europe’s biggest warehouse that was built using ecological construction techniques. It was built with wood constructions and houses the 10,000 m² central warehouse of the Austrian wholesaler Metro. At a temperature range of 12 to 18 degree Celsius, about 400 tonnes of goods are handled there per day,“ the experts jury explains its decision.
