Schenker Germany grows in south-eastern Europe

Positive basic setting for land transport with Schenker Deutschland

The expansion of the European land transport network pays off for the Schenker Deutschland AG also in the current economic crisis situation. The on its own account leading service provider of integrated logistics in Germany increases volumes in particular on relations to south-eastern Europe, as for example in general cargo and direct services with Bulgaria and Romania. “Our long-term market activities pay off once more and make us less susceptible to the crisis in total“, Dieter Haunschild, Head of the product management for land transportation with Schenker Deutschland AG in Frankfurt am Main, analyses the current situation.

The logistics enterprise had been preparing intensively for several years for the EU’s eastward expansion. The enterprise positioned itself in the shippers industry with its customised logistics products and a European-wide, dense location network. These efforts resulted in orders of many medium-sized companies and of globally-producing large-scale enterprises. As for example on behalf of Siemens AG, DB Schenker forwards drive modules, circuit technique and switchgear tasks from Romania to customers throughout Europe.

“Our network traffic with DB Schenker companies like the Transa Spedition GmbH as well as combined transport like the Danube Nordic Shuttle let us be optimistic about the future. Our strategy that has been strictly implemented throughout decades, with the goal to generate the largest-possible benefit for customers thanks to our dense network and high logistics quality, allowed to well-position our land transport segment“, emphasises Aloys Winn, Member of the Management Board of Schenker Deutschland AG, in charge of land transport.
