Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau takes holding in BOXmover GmbH

Partnership with Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau company shall leverage the side-loading innovation for containers by BOXmover GmbH

For its market entry in 2014, the BOXmover GmbH was able to win Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau GmbH an experienced partner. Specialising in custom solutions in vehicle construction and individual transport solutions the company based in Naarn/Perg, Upper Austria, recently acquired a 25% stake in BOXmover GmbH, to jointly promote the positioning of the side-loading innovation BOXmover in the German-speaking region. The partnership shall leverage synergies in the areas of development, purchasing, production, sales and spare parts.

BOXmover-container handling technology is an innovation of Rudolf Hubauer. It allows lateral loading and unloading of all standardised container units from a chassis or shift them to another truck or rail car. Due to its lightweight construction, this technlogy has significant advantages over the existing systems on the market.

The third generation family-run company Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau GmbH is a specialist for small series and custom products. Under the motto „The world is always in motion“ they offer customer-oriented special solutions in all areas of transport, including all kinds of bodies and swap systems as well as truck trailers. Solely Austrian quality products are used. The entire value is added in-house – from sheet metal processing to assembly. One strength of the Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau GmbH is the high degree of standardisation, from which now also BOXmover GmbH will benefit. This saves costs and reduces cycle times.

„We want to jointly use individual strengths,“ says technical director Franz Scheuwimmer. „As our strength lies in the standardisation of special solutions, it is easy to integrate the BOXmover technology in our production process.“

Rudolf Hubauer, managing director of Boxmover GmbH sees a great opportunity in the future cooperation: „Not only standardisation of the production, but also the common after-sales service provides many advantages. The Scheuwimmer Fahrzeugbau GmbH has the necessary production and sales skills, and also lends his name for a high level of quality in production. “

The BOXmover GmbH with headquarters in St. Florian near Linz is a medium-small enterprise, which deals with the development of innovative container handling systems since 2004. The BOXmover sidelifter was first tested in 2011 and optimised in 2012. Following a restructuring in 2013, the company wants to make a fresh start in 2014. The BOXmover technology is able to transport up to 28 tonnes of payload without traffic-technical restrictions. They accept cargo with handling weight of over 35 tonnes.
