Signature Flatbreads invests in Flexis

Speciality baker Signature Flatbreads has chosen Flexi electric-powered articulated trucks to help boost capacity at its Dunstable facility.

It decided to combine the buildings that stored packaging materials and finished products to free up a unit for production purposes, introducing a narrow aisle racking solution and two Flexi AC1000 Flexi articulated forklifts designed and built by Narrow Aisle.

“The Flexis have performed at full capacity since they joined our fleet,” said Gary Cosh, Signature Flatbread’s manager responsible for warehousing and logistics.

Narrow Aisle commercial director John Maguire said: “Because the Flexi can stack in the very narrow aisles and deliver the palletised goods to their production or dispatch point, no other equipment is required and double handling is eliminated.”

Bakery products have a short self-life meaning there is a constant flow of stock through the store. This requires materials handling equipment that can deliver maximum up-time.

“The Flexi electric-powered articulated trucks’ reputation for exceptional reliability and rapid battery change-over capability, were a significant influence on our decision to choose Flexis,” said Cosh.
