SingPost acquires 30% of Indo Trans Logistics

Singapore Post has announced the acquisition of a 30% stake in Vietnam-based Indo Trans Logistics (ITL) for US$10.8 million.

ITL provides integrated logistics solutions with businesses in air and sea freight forwarding, third-party logistics solutions and distribution, and general sales agency for airlines.

According to SingPost’s CEO Dr Wolfgang Baier, the acquisition gives the company a foothold into Vietnam and the Indo-China region, both of which are emerging markets with significant logistics and related opportunities.

SingPost has made several major acquisitions in a bid to diversify its revenue base and expand its business beyond Singapore shores. These include acquisitions which resulted in the addition of two wholly-owned subsidiaries:

  • Quantium Solutions, a mail-logistics solutions provider operating out of ten countries in Asia Pacific
  • DataPost, a hybrid mail business with a presence in five countries.
SingPost also made a 27.08% investment in Malaysia-based GDEX Express Carrier Berhad, and acquired a 30% stake in US-based technology company, Postea.
