In cooperation with the London-based company Hanhaa Limited, the international logistics service provider is launching an innovative real-time tracking tool with automated digital returns management: Smart Visibility is a live shipment tracking service that enables users to determine the exact location, condition and security of their shipments in real time, anywhere in the world.
The hardware used by Hellmann for monitoring represents a revolution in real-time tracking of shipments: It optimises the return process, thus enabling the customer to simply throw the postcard-sized device into the nearest mailbox after its use. This unique return process requires no additional outer packaging or labelling.
This new tracking box enables customers to seamlessly track their goods flow within complex supply chains and significantly optimise their own supply chain and inventory management on the basis of the real-time data. The tool is notable for its ease of use, but also for its versatility. The tracking box can be used universally – for all kinds of transport units such as containers, trucks, pallets and parcels, but also for all transport carriers, whereby it even enables continuous tracking of the goods at sea.
In addition to information about the shipment’s current position, the system provides details on temperature, humidity, vibration, incidence of light, door openings and deviations from the schedule. Installing the device is simple: it can be ordered online and integrated into the supply chain within very short time, without additional IT or personnel costs. After installation, activation at the simple touch of a button is all it takes.
Customers can monitor their shipments from origin to destination without interruption via a web-based dashboard and system generated e-mail notifications. The pay-as-you-go approach makes the device financially attainable and easy to use, even for companies with fluctuating shipment volumes.
