Spec shed scheme gets go ahead

Goodman has been granted full planning permission to develop 430,000 sq ft of warehouse space at its 40-acre Leicester Commercial Park scheme in the East Midlands.

The speculative construction of two units of 95,500 sq ft and 335,000 sq ft is being carried out in Partnership with Wilson Bowden. Both buildings will be available for occupation by spring next year.

Each development will be constructed to the minimum BREEAM Very Good certification and feature 50-metre-wide service yards, 12 metre clear internal height, HGV and car parking together with two storey office accommodation.

Goodman UK Managing Director Charles Crossland said: “The growth of the Goodman UK Logistics partnership remains the key focus of UK operations, with commitments of £250m to date and a further £250m in the pipeline.  We will continue to develop our existing landbank to extract the highest and best use, while taking advantage of prime acquisitions as they arise.”

Agents marketing the scheme are Burbage Realty, Avison Young and Mather Jamie.
