TCS Tilbury: Shareholders ABP and DP World withdraw from business

Port logistics enterprise Forth Ports takes complete control of Tilbury Container Services effective now

The circle of shareholders of TCS Tilbury Container Services Ltd. was streamlined. The companies DP World Group and Associated British Ports (ABP) sold their joint shares (67 per cent) to Otter Ports Holdings Ltd.. Its subsidiary Forth Ports owns now 100 per cent of the share capital of the container terminal.

The Tilbury Container Terminal at the Thames has a strong position in England’s reefer traffic with South America and South Africa. Short Sea Services from and to destinations in the UK or on Mainland Europe form another key business segment. In 2011 about 320,000 containers were put through, among them 126,000 units of the Short Sea Services division.
