Teardrop trailers help tradeteam bridge the gap to greener city deliveries

Tradeteam is investing in 60 new ‚teardrop‘ trailers. The investment forms part of Tradeteam’s Secondary Distribution fleet replacement programme. The decision follows the addition last year of 113 teardrop trailers to Tradeteam’s Primary Distribution fleet, as part of its company-wide Go Green commitment.

Focusing on short deliveries to inner city and town locations, the new trailers are expected to produce a 2% fuel saving per year, over an average of 50,000 miles.

The investment complements a range of initiatives undertaken by Tradeteam as part of its GoGreen campaign, which sees all operations monitored closely for environmental impact, and a range of strategies put into place to reduce the firm’s carbon footprint.

Matt Crampton, Finance Director at Tradeteam, said the firm was delighted with the investment. "The new trailers were part of our staged upgrade process – we wanted to extend the success of our primary distribution teardrops trailers to our secondary distribution network," he added.
