Ten DAFs for Knights of Old

Knights of Old had added 10 DAF XF 530 FTG tractor units to its fleet of 250 trucks and 400 trailers.

The New XF 530 FTG models have twin-steer and mid-lift axles and feature a Paccar MX-13 12.9 litre engine and TraXon 12-speed automated gearbox. Knights of Old also specified Super Space Cabs for its fleet.

“We have been looking at managing operating costs,” said Knights of Old group fleet manager Scott Mason. “Prices have been increasing steadily on everything from tyres to fuel, and truck prices have been no exception.”

“There has been a lot of talk around the industry about enhanced fuel consumption from the latest DAF models,” said Mason, “and we are already seeing fuel economies.”
