ThermoMed sharpens its focus on pharmaceutical logistics

Logistics specialist for healt care market ThermoMed received confirmation of compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP):

The trans-o-flex company ThermoMed announces in a press release that it successfully passed the re-certification according to the ISO-9001 standard and expands its quality management regarding particular customer requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. BSI Management Systems und Umweltgutachter Deutschland GmbH confirmed for the first time that the company meets the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) guidelines.

"For us as a specialist in serving the pharmaceutical and healthcare market, meeting the GDP guidelines has been a matter of course for many years now", explains Carsten Glos, Managing Director of trans-o-flex ThermoMed GmbH. trans-o-flex ThermoMed’s new certificate is valid for three years. After that period, a complete re-certification audit has to be performed. A yearly re-audit is carried out in addition to this. Among the locations audited were the two hubs in Kassel and Baunatal as well as ThermoMed’s warehouses in Berlin and Alzenau.

trans-o-flex ThermoMed GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Weinheim, has specialized in the fine distribution of temperature-sensitive shipments within the pharmaceutical industry between the temperature ranges of 2° – 8°C and 15° – 25°C. ThermoMed operates its own specialized vehicle fleet with more than 700 specially instructed personnel. ThermoMed provides actively temperature controlled transportations in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Denmark and France.
