Third Maersk Line connection from the Far East to Hamburg

Hamburg is the new port of call for the AE10 service of the Danish container shipping company Maersk Line

The Danish Maersk Line enhances their commitment in regular traffic from Asia to Hamburg. On 12 February 2010 the container vessel Maersk Sydney (8,500 TEU) has called at the north German port in the frame of the expanded liner service AE-10 for the first time. The string that is new for Hamburg links the ports Shenzhen (Dachan Bay), Ningbo, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Shenzhen (Yantian), Hong Kong and Tanjung Pelepas to the European continent. Moreover it includes calls at the Baltic Sea ports Arhus, Gotenborg and Danzig, as Hafen Hamburg Marketing e.V. announces in a press release.

The AE-10 service is the third Far East service of Maersk Line that has a stopover in Hamburg. The vessels will be handled at the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg (CTH), analogously to the AE-1 and AE-2 services. Transit time from Hong Kong to Hamburg is 25 days.
