Thousands of drivers are running out of time on CPC training

Thousands of lorry drivers could be forced off the road if they don’t complete their CPC periodic training in the next couple of months, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has warned.

Drivers must of completed and recorded 35 hours of periodic training by 9th September to maintain their current Driver Qualification Card.

The DVSA pointed out that it’s illegal for professional drivers to drive without a DQC.

“Missing the deadline will mean time off the road or being faced with a £1,000 fine for driving illegally, without a valid DQC, said Bob Hanningan, head of national standards and accreditation.
