Günter Bauer Transport becomes part of Quehenberger Logistics

70 employees and 60 trucks: Augustin Quehenberger Group takes over Salzburg-based traditional company Günter Bauer Transportgesellschaft

The transport enterprise Günter Bauer Transportgesellschaft is to have a new owner. As of 1 December 2014 the Salzburg-based, long-established company will become part of Quehenberger Logistics, a company of the Augustin Quehenberger Group. The previous company owner Günter Bauer will join the management of the Express division of Quehenberger Logistics, Christian Fürstaller, managing associate and CEO of the Augustin Quehenberger Group, announced on 14 November.

70 employees, 60 trucks and the existing customer relations of the Günter Bauer company will be taken over by Quehenberger in the form of an asset deal. This will also preserve the special expertise in the segments of media logistics, express services and special transport.

„I am glad Günter Bauer has chosen us. We appreciate him as an absolute expert of the industry and a successful, reliable entrepreneur. All the more I am pleased that he personally strengthens the management board of Quehenberger. As Managing Director Günter Bauer will be responsible for the development of the Express division,“ said Christian Fürstaller.

Günter Bauer, who has no successor and therefore decided to sell his company, stressed that Quehenberger Logistics as an international company has an excellent reputation. They know each other for decades and shared the same business philosophy of a medium-sized company with a handshake quality. This good partnership had facilitated his decision, of course, sadness is in the process of bringing his life work into a new organisation.

As to the performance of his company Günter Bauer said the success lies in the regional business with high-end service. „We supply our customers‘ customers. We therefore make an important contribution to customer satisfaction.“ The regional recipients expect a perfect delivery service with extensive local knowledge and flexible time windows. These requirements have always been met by his company’s professional staff and its own fleet.

Augustin Quehenberger Group GmbH is a strategic holding to manage quality-oriented logistics enterprises. The company based in Straßwalchen near Salzburg was established in 2010 and is owned by Christian Fürstaller, Rodolphe Schoettel and Rudi Quehenberger. Quehenberger Logistics GmbH is also a part of the group, which currently employs a total of 2,600 people at 89 locations in 18 countries.
