Toll Global Forwarding targets growth in airfreight sector

With IATA forecasting strong growth in the Asian airfreight sector for the next three years, Toll Global Forwarding has been investing in building its regional and global air freight services and network.

Toll Global Forwarding, part of Toll Group, is targeting significant growth in the global airfreight sector in 2011, following investment in strategic acquisitions.

Toll Global Forwarding has traditionally been weighted towards ocean freight, but during the last twelve months the company has strengthened its airfreight division.

IATA forecasts that the five fastest growing international airfreight markets between 2009 and 2014 will be Hong Kong (12.3%), China (11.7%), Vietnam (11.4%) and Taiwan.

During the same period, Asia Pacific is expected to see the highest growth worldwide for international airfreight (9.8%).

Hong Kong-based Toll Global Forwarding has made several key acquisitions in the US, Europe and the Middle East in order to strengthen its airfreight network.

Toll recently acquired Dubai-based Sae-Air Services provider, SAT Albatros, and sees potential in consolidating the company’s position in the Middle East and on the Asia – Europe trade lane.
