Trade Distribution opts for OBS systems
Trade Distribution has teamed up with OBS Logistics, to create a new home delivery service, using its Calidus TMS and ePOD systems.
Based on the Isle of Man, Trade Distribution operates from a central UK hub in Lancashire, and two depots on the island itself. It employs some 100 staff, and operates around 120 trailers and 50 vehicles.
The company says the system provides it with visibility throughout dispatch and delivery operations.
“To be competitive in this market place is essential to our growth and to achieve this we had to find solutions that would eliminate all paperwork from the daily working process,” said Trade Distribution’s managing director, Steve Pickett.
“We also wanted to make better efficiencies in dispatch and transport scheduling and give delivery drivers a better method of managing proof of delivery. These were all enabled by better working practices brought forward by our liaison with OBS Logistics.”
