Translogic courses approved for amended Air Cargo Security procedures

 
Translogic’s training certified

Dublin-based aviation security training provider Translogic has received approval from Ireland’s Department of Transport for its revised Air Cargo Security courses. Translogic has been providing training in aviation security since 2005.

Following comprehensive re-writing, Translogic’s totally-revised training modules are now certified as complying with the amended guidelines set out by the EC300/2008 amendment to the original EC622/2003 regulations first introduced in 2005.

The air cargo security procedures were designed to ensure that there is no unauthorized interference representing a potential security threat to civil aviation movements. The procedures have now been supplemented and enhanced with additional measures, and set out clear lines of responsibility for all parties involved in the preparation, processing, transportation and loading of air cargo.

The new Air Cargo Security Procedures focus on: Security of premises, Access control to premises, En-route security of cargo, Recruitment and screening procedures for company personnel, Security awareness and training of company personnel, and Certification that cargo is secure from point of origin to the aircraft.
The Translogic Aviation Security modules respond with training tailored for personnel at each stage of the air cargo process:

Module 12 – 1/2 day
For all personnel employed by Regulated Agents and the Regulated Postal Authority including those who may not be directly responsible for air cargo security but who require  familiarization with its objectives

Module 13  – 1 day
For all personnel directly involved in the handling and preparation of air cargo, and those involved in the preparation and checking of associated paperwork.

Module 14 – 1 day
For drivers engaged in the ground transportation of air cargo 

Module 15 – 2 days
For Security Managers and Deputy Security Managers 

Module 16 – 1 day
For all cargo/baggage ramp personnel engaged in the loading of aircraft Translogic is conducting its first programme of revamped courses in March, to be held at locations in Cork, Dublin and Shannon. Course Tutor Gerald Clifford has spent 29 years as an aviation security trainer in Ireland, UK, Middle East and Africa within a total aviation career spanning 45 years.
