Truck toll in Latvia to start as of 1 July 2014
Latvia charges toll for cargo transport vehicles of more than 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight from 1st July
As of 1 July 2014 a toll for all vehicles and combinations of vehicles used in road cargo transport of more than 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight will be introduced on all main roads (motorways) in Latvia.
The toll can be paid on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis.
Vehicles of more than 3.5 tonnes and up to twelve tonnes gross vehicle weight will have to pay a toll fee ranging from EUR 8 per day to EUR 484 per year, independent from their emission class. Vehicles of more than twelve tonnes gross vehicle weight are charged with a fee of EUR 8 per day to EUR 925 per year, according to their respective emission class and number of axles.
“The toll fee can be either paid electronically via www.lvvignette.eu or directly at the terminals of the operating company Road Traffic Safety Directorate“, informs the Austrian association of international road companies (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Internationaler Straßenverkehrsunternehmer Österreichs – AISÖ) in a press release.
