TT-Line extends route network to the Baltic States

The ferry company TT-Line opened a combined freight and passenger service on 9 June on the new connection between Trelleborg and the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda. The connection to the Baltic will be served once a week in the future.

The round trip starts with a departure from Trelleborg on Saturday at 6 o’clock and reaches Klaipėda at 23.30 o’clock on the same day. The return journey starts in Klaipėda on Sunday at 01.30 clock with arrival at 17.30 clock in Trelleborg. Within the TT-Line route network, it is also possible to book a continuous journey from Rostock to Klaipėda and from Klaipėda to Travemünde.

“With the new TT-Line destination Klaipėda, we are expanding our route network to the east in order to offer our existing customers a connection to the Baltic States,” explains TT-Line freight manager Björn Saschenbrecker.

The new line will be operated by the ferries “Tom Sawyer” and “Robin Hood” and will continue to strengthen the southern Swedish port of Trelleborg as an important transportation hub of the TT-Line. Now, at the request of many customers, the Baltic states are integrated into the route network.

Klaipėda is Lithuania’s most important Baltic Sea port because it is often ice-free all year round. Shipping companies start it because of its central location in the Baltic States and the good hinterland connections. Klaipėda has about 160,000 inhabitants.
