Two new warehouses for North West site
Following outline approval for the development earlier this year, developer Tritax Symmetry has applied for detailed planning permission for two warehouses on the scheme; one of 152,212ft2 and the other totalling 213,330ft2. Known as Unit 2 and Unit 3, both will have 50m yards with between 10 – 20m eaves and be built to carbon net zero attaining at least BREEAM Very Good standard.
The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that construction had started on a 161,000ft2 speculative unit just before Easter.
The speculative development known as Unit 1, marked the first step in the regeneration of the former Cronton Colliery site.
Unit one will be built to net zero carbon in construction and will achieve BREEAM excellent.
Speaking about the scheme, David Nuttall, Development Director at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “In commencing construction, we identified strong occupier interest for the outline area and subsequently took the decision to submit this new application to meet the demand and maintain the momentum at Symmetry Park, Merseyside.”
