Unitcargo forwarding “exports” its diversity concept to Bulgaria

Employees from various cultural and social backgrounds strengthen the position of Unitcargo forwarding company in the segment of full truck loads

Davor Sertic, head of Unitcargo, has recently presented the company’s diversity concept to a selected group of representatives of Austria’s economy in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. The event was initiated and organised in the frame of the monthly Austrian Business Club by Dr. Michael Angerer, Austrian industry delegate in Bulgaria. The audience shoed great interest, as Diversity Management as a company culture is still at its very beginning in this Southeast European country.

The proper handling of diversity is increasingly becoming a key to business success. Diverse teams are more innovative in general, since employees with different cultural and social backgrounds can productively add different experiences. At the same time a precise knowledge of culturally diverse markets is crucial, both for product development as well as for the choice of marketing strategies.

Unitcargo has been practising successful diversity management for many years, and operating a subsidiary in Bulgaria since 2011. The company is headquartered in Vienna, and has locations in Nowe Zamky (Slovakia), Sofia and Istanbul. Its mission as an international freight forwarder lies in the holistic organisation of full truck loads at the highest level. For many customers they handled more than 10,000 annual shipments within the entire Europen Union (as well as Norway and Switzerland), to/from and within the Middle East and Turkey, as well as to/from and within the Balkans.
