Willi Betz increases efficiency of its European fleet

Transics to equip about 370 Willi Betz trucks with TX-SKY onboard computers and TX-Connect back office software before the end of this year

A major challenge of fleet management is optimising the fleet capacity and processes, in order to meet all customer requirements. Willi Betz, a reputable international forwarding and transport company in Europe, takes this challenge as a reason to equip about 370 utility vehicles of its European fleet with modern telematic solutions of Transics, such as the TX-SKY onboard computer and the TX-Connect back office software.

“One year ago we started replacing our old satellite-based systems by the progressive telematics solutions of Transics“, says Dietmar Munding, Project Manager Willi Betz. “By now we have equipped more than 120 tractors of eight of our European subsidiaries with TX-SKY onboard computers. They help us to improve our fleet management potential. We are very satisfied with the results, so we decided to equip 250 more trucks with Transics telematics solutions before the end of this year.“ The coupling of the TX-SKY onboard computer and the CAN-Bus and the tachograph of the vehicle allows real time tracking and exchange of all driver and vehicle related information. The solution supports Willi Betz to meet all customer needs, such as timely delivery. At the same time the company’s own transport management system is integrated in the TX-Connect back office software via Transics’ online based web service.

The back office software TX-Connect also includes TX Docscan, Transics’ solution for document management. This allows drivers to transmit transport documents directly from the driver cabin, thus accelerating the payment and billing processes of the logistics expert. In addition, the navigation function is linked to the order and loading processes, so that the driver’s efficiency can be significantly increased. Established in 1945, Internationale Spedition Willi Betz GmbH & Co. KG with its headquarters in Reutlingen has today 30 locations in Europe, Asia and the Near East. The company operates in the business segments of forwarding, transport and trade.
