Wincanton introduces teardrop trailers into construction transport fleet
Following the introduction of 25 Teardrop trailers into its fleet last year, Wincanton will introduce another twenty curtain-sided Teardrop trailers into its construction transport operation. Wincanton and Lafarge UK have worked closely to achieve a new design that could reduce carbon emissions by 119 tonnes a year. Research trials have shown that the current vehicles have improved fuel consumption by between 7% and 8%, and the new vehicles could increase this to a saving of 10%.
