Wincanton takes Bristol shed for Hinkley Point contract

Wincanton has agreed a lease on a 250,000 sq ft warehouse near Bristol to support its contract with EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project.

The 3PL is the official ‘tier 1’ warehouse and transport service partner for the project and throughout the construction process, it is providing storage, handling, asset tracking and transportation for incoming materials from a global supplier base.

The Bristol lease follows Wincanton acquiring the lease on a 155,000 sq.ft eFulfilment centre in Nuneaton, Warwickshire in July. This now houses operations for home furnishings brand, Loaf, and health and beauty company, Neal’s Yard Remedies.

Also during the summer, Wincanton opened a 128,000 sq.ft distribution centre in Prologis Park, Stafford for customer Screwfix.

Wincanton are shortlisted in four categories in the Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2020, the winners of which will be announced on 12 November.
