Wren Kitchens purchases 3.5 acre Bristol site

Kitchen retailer Wren Kitchens has bought a 3.5 acre plot at Delta Properties’ newly released extension of Central Park, Bristol.

The site has full planning consent already granted for open storage or new build warehouse and distribution, meaning no further planning permission is required prior to commencing development.

Wren Kitchens has purchased the plot for a new transport depot.

Liam Knaggs, property manager at Wren Kitchens, said: “We are strategically opening transport depots across the UK to ensure our delivery service continues to be economically efficient and first-class. By securing this land with Delta Properties, we envisage opening a new transport depot by 2020.”

The company delivers over 2,000 kitchens a week to customers across the the UK. This recent investment is part of Wren’s wider growth plans to cater for increased business and to ultimately reduce fuel costs and emissions.

Wren Kitchens currently has a fleet of 75 7.5-tonne HGVs and 90 18-tonne HGVs, operating out of five depots located in Howden, Barton-upon-Humber, Bristol, Stansted and Larkhall.

Michael Shebson, of Delta Properties, said: “Our infrastructure programme including a new access road, is on schedule, to be completed later this year. Discussions with other potential occupiers continue, attracted by the location to the motorway network with the imminent opening of the new M49 junction, and the huge benefits the existing planning consent brings.”

Delta Properties announced the first deal at Severn Road with HGV rental firm Dawsongroup in July.

Avison Young and Knight Frank acted on behalf of Delta Properties.
