Yamaha Motor Europe outsources warehousing to Yusen Logistics

Yusen Logistics wins contract to manage the spare parts distribution center of Yamaha Motor Europe at Schiphol-Rijk, as per January 1, 2014

On December 4, 2013, Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. and Yusen Logistics (Benelux) B.V. have signed contracts for the cooperation in the field of European spare parts distribution. The cooperation consists of Yusen Logistics Benelux taking over the operational activities of the warehouse-function in the European spare parts distribution center of Yamaha Motor Europe at Schiphol-Rijk, the Netherlands, as per January 1, 2014. As of the same date, 69 employees of Yamaha will be employed at Yusen Logistics Benelux.

Yamaha’s fully automated 30,000 sqm. Schiphol-Rijk facility stores over 120,000 different spare parts (SKU) on average. Up to 3000 orders are handled on a daily basis. The outsourcing of the warehousing activities to Yusen Logistics is part of Yamaha Motors’ continuous efforts to further rationalization and efficiency improvement.
