Yusen backs lorry theft scheme
Yusen Logistics is sponsoring a security initiative which aims to reduce lorry thefts in the Northamptonshire area.
The campaign involves displaying a lorry trailer with multilingual crime prevention messages, to educate and remind drivers about the dangers of theft. The messages are written in English, Polish and Romanian, the top three driver nationalities targeted by criminals in the area.
“By publicising freight crime we hope to keep safety at the forefront of drivers’ minds,” said Mark Harvey, head of security at Yusen.
The campaign is part of Operation Barric, a national task force combating freight crime, which Northamptonshire Police is now leading.
