Yusen Logistics opens global pharma-airfreight centre in Amsterdam Schiphol
GDP-compliant airfreight gateway by Yusen Logistics in Amsterdam to lead to efficiency increases, cost reducation and added-value services for customers
Yusen Logistics opened an airfreight centre at the airport Amsterdam Schiphol specifically for pharma business. This new service goes hand in hand with the official introduction of GDP compliant airfreight services for pharma products. This is the last step in customer-oriented development of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Yusen Logistics president Hiromitsu Kuramoto said in his speech: “This opening is another step towards the realisation of our global healthcare strategy. Yusen Logistics Europe plays a prominent and important role in the global business in this sector.”
Yusen Logistics will adopt further measures to continue to improve and develop services for the healthcare sector. The goal is to consolidate the relationship with customers in the pharmaceutical industry.
The new service was developed in close cooperation with customers in the pharma industry who are increasingly on the lookout for improved processes. These are controlled by a single control tower, who is connected to all Yusen locations worldwide. Customers can now call off full or part loads for airfreight-, seafreight- and road transports via the European Yusen Logistics pharma superhighway. This service is in line with the strict requirements of the pharma- and health care industry with more than 50.000 points of delivery in Europe alone. Yusen Logistics presently carries out 20.000 deliveries per week in 36 countries.
