Grundig Intermedia relies on logistics by the Geis group
Full-service on more than 10,000 m² warehouse area: Geis group is a logistics provider and strategic partner of Grundig Intermedia
The Geis group (Bad Neustadt) has been managing storage, handling and distribution of electronic devices of Grundig Intermedia GmbH since last July. The logistics provider bundles all major processes at its multi-user logistics and techology centre in Erlangen-Frauenaurach.
The aim of the cooperation between the electronics group and the logistics provider was first to join the two Grundig sites at one place, that were previously located in southern and western Germany. After a dedicated evaluation process, they chose the multi-user logistics and technology centre of Geis in Erlangen-Frauenaurach, Franconia.
Just one month after signing the contract, the first goods were stored there, and by the end of September the integration process was completed. Now Grundig has more than 10,000 m² of storage space available, including special areas for picking and labelling of goods. Geis also carries out several million scans of serial numbers of Grundig goods.
Grundig counts among the most popular brands in the consumer electronics segment. In recent years, the company has broadened its position by adding also small appliances, products for body care and large electrical appliances to the portfolio. Storage, picking and distribution of more than 700 different items are now managed by Geis Industrie Service GmbH (GIS) and Geis Transport und Logistik GmbH (GTL).
Geis responds to daily and seasonal fluctuations with flexible transport structures. Thanks to its convenient location near the port of Nuremberg, the logistics and technology center in Erlangen-Frauenaurach is an ideal hub for the distribution of Grundig products across Germany and Europe. „Apart from being a logistics provider, Geis is also a strategic partner for us. We are looking forward to a long relationship,“ said Emre Cetinbas, Supply Chain Manager of Grundig Intermedia GmbH.
