Raben Group about to take over German company

Planned takeover of the Balter Group means 300 more employees and about EUR 65 million additional annual turnover for Raben Logistics

Raben Group is planning to take over the Balter Group. The transaction is subject to the approval of anti-trust authorities. The Balter Group consists of two business units – Balter Logistics and Spedition Balter & Zimmermann. Since 1996 Balter has been a member of the CargoLine.

“The acquisition of the Balter Group enables us to enhance our competences in Germany in the whole supply chain. This way we can combine the local experience which has been gathered by Balter Group over the years with the international know-how of Raben Group”, says Ewald Raben, CEO Raben Group.

At the locations in Koblenz and Gera there are over 300 persons employed and all of them will be retained.  The annual turnover of the company is around EUR 65 million and it owns approximately 100,000 m² of warehouse capacity. Its core business consists of distribution and procurement logistics, as well as warehousing and logistics services. As a member of Raben Group they will continue their business under the corporate name Balter Logistics and Spedition Balter & Zimmermann.
