Dachser initiates European cooperative for food logistics European Food Network
 
The transport and logistics provider Dachser announces the establishment of a pan-European cooperative for food logistics. TheEuropean Food Network unites twelve European food logisticians, who are covering 21 countries in total, including Germany, Austria and Slovenia (both served by Brummer Logistik), Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Dachser will assume the system leadership rile in the network.
 
Food consignments in positive temperature ranges will be carried within the network of the new cooperation. The European Food Network joins the competences of established food logisticians for customers operating across Europe in a single system and stands for reliable, transnational foods logistics according to the same standards. Moreover the network plans to launch a new range of services, branded vivengo, from 1st October with defined service standards for IT and transport.
 
In total the European Food Network generates turnover of about EUR 1.2 billion with food logistics, and has close to one million special slots available as well as about 3,500 vehicles. More partners are planned to join the cooperative in the coming months. The European Food Network aims at becoming “the leading network for food transport within Europe“, says Alfred Miller Managing Director Dachser Food Logistics.
