2,000 new car spaces with DB Schenker Rail in Bremen

DB Schenker Rail Automotive to construct new car terminal next to Daimler AG’s plant in Bremen
 
A new car terminal is to be constructed in Bremen. DB Schenker Rail, the rail cargo division of the Deutsche Bahn, is starting to develop the site next to the Daimler AG plant these days. The facility with 2,000 car spaces on a total surface of 50,000 m² is designed to handle 200,000 vehicles per year. About 60 new jobs will be created at this location. Completion of the new terminal is scheduled for 2014.
 
According to Alexander Hedderich, CEO DB Schenker Rail AG, the company will invest approximately EUR 10 million into acquisition, preparation, design and settlement of areas that previously belonged to the repair plant of the DB automotive engineering division in Bremen, and the DB Netz AG. In addition a hall for reworking and checking of the vehicles will be constructed on this site.
