25 years of HHM Hafen Hamburg Marketing e. V.

HHM coordinates the location marketing of Port of Hamburg and the neighbouring regions

Hafen Hamburg Marketing e. V. (HHM for short) celebrates its 25-years jubilee these days. Together with the branches of HHM – including the office in Vienna – and more than 260 member companies the private association plans, coordinates and implements the worldwide marketing and sales activities for Port of Hamburg and the neighbouring regions. The target thereof is to consolidate and enhance the relations with shippers from trade and industry as well as partners in the seaport industry, associations and diverse institutions.

By establishing the association in February 1985, under the name Hafen Hamburg Verkaufsförderung und Werbung e.V. (HHVW) at that time, they continued the work of the former main department II of the company association Hafen Hamburg – Der Generalvertreter. With these newly created structures and a modern, strategic orientation the founders saw it as their task to directly and indirectly reinforce the competitive position of Port of Hamburg by targeted activities. HHM’s CEO Claudia Roller: The work of our community of interest is well accepted in our national environment as well as on an international level. This is documented by the continuously growing number of members and the success of our events.”

Apart from port events and workshops HHM is organising a big number of events in coordination with big shippers from the industry or in cooperation with inland hubs, like e.g. inland ports of combined transport terminals. HHM participates also in cooperative projects, which elaborate on current issues of transport policy or opportunities to optimise transport and throughput processes. With their regular presence on national and international media the association informs the public about the Port of Hamburg and port-related issues.
