5 years of Emirates Airline flights to Vienna

Emirates Airline has been operating regular services from Dubai to Vienna and back for 5 years now. The first flight to Austria took off on May 1, 2004. Today the airline based in Dubai offers daily connections from Vienna to their “homebase” in the United Arab Emirates. The flights are operated with a Boeing 777-300 ER.

Emirates SkyCargo transports about 750 tons of air cargo per month from and to Vienna. About 30 per cent of the outgoing consignments are destined for the local market in Dubai. The other 70 per cent are further transported to Australia, South Africa, China and India. The shipments are ranging from motor bikes and office furniture to blood plasma in refrigerated containers and camel milk chocolate, explains Rene Patek, Cargo Manager Austria. On its Vienna route Emirates has forwarded around 45,000 tons of air cargo during these first five years.
