A2B-online expands its services to the UK ex C.C.T. Moerdijk

Dutch-based transport company A2B-online Container adds London Thamesport to its current service to Immingham

A2B-online, the Dutch-based transport company specialising in full load, part load and pallet consignments to and from the United Kingdom, Benelux and Germany, adds London Thamesport to its current service to Immingham. ‘We will start 28th of January with the MS `Expansa’, a 340 TEU containership with a three weekly service from Moerdijk ( C.C.T.) to London Thamesport. It is furthermore our intention to add one additional sailing per week after three months, meaning servicing London Thamesport four times a week. That is the advantage of London Thamesport, no locks to go through, shorter crossings and quick handlings of the ship,” says Managing Director Gerard de Groot.

He continues: ‘Naturally we have investigated various options in the South however there are not that many actually that were suitable. Of course we have looked at Tilbury as well, but as the Management of Tilbury had identified themselves, they could not guarantee the high service levels that we expect from a terminal. Besides fast turnaround times at the terminal we need an efficient and effective ships operation as well; that is why we decided for London Thamesport’.

As from 28 January A2B-online, operates daily departures to the UK ex C.C.T.Moerdijk. Kees Vierhouten, the main investor and owner of the van Vierhouten Group of Companies, is main shareholder in A2B-online.
